Oban 14YRThis is a fantastic whisky that had a great amount of complexity for the price. A bit of salinity and smoke sit on top of a creamy complex malt full of orange and apple fruit with darker baking spices and burnt honey. It just goes to show that while sherry cask finishes (or other even more exotic barrel combinations) can create fascinating single malt, its hard to beat a classically profiled dram.
